The Greens welcomed Taibach to Parc y Gwter Fawr on Saturday where the hosts recorded their third league victory in succession which maintains their promotion challenge. Although it could be argued that the final score line wasn't a fair reflection on the game, the fact that the Greens had already secured the bonus point by half time was no doubt a factor in the reduced intensity seen during the second period.
After the sluggish performance against Maesteg Celtic a week earlier it was good to see the Greens back line back on song, with wing with ‘Man of the Match’ Tomos Powell in outstanding form chalking up a well-deserved hat trick. Pick of the bunch was a 70 yard effort which originated from a breakout by scrum half Lee Evans break ten yards from the Greens’ try line. Having broken through the first line of defence Bryn’s influential inside half offloaded to Powell who then raced home the length of the field for a superb try.
The Greens’ other tries came from centre Steffan Duggan, flanker Sion Slyman and replacement scrum half Dafydd Jones. Outside half Rhys Williams weighed in with 5 conversions for another ten point haul. Man of the match was scrum half Lee Evans.
